šæ Rooted in Time:
An Invitation to Mindful Time Management

Grab your journal and your The LOTUS Within book (https://www.amazon.com/LOTUS-Within-Purpose-Ignite-Passion/dp/B0DDRDXB89Ā ). In this next phase of our journey together, weāre turning our attention to a topic that touches every part of our lives ā time management. When we manage our time with intention, we create space for what truly matters: healing, growth, connection, and rest.
There are many tools and concepts to help us align our time with our values. Each one brings a unique perspective ā and this week, weāre preparing to explore them.
Here are a few of the powerful time management techniques weāll be diving into:
ā° 11 Time Management Tools to Explore
1. Eisenhower Matrix A decision-making tool that helps you prioritize tasks by urgency and importance so you can focus on what truly matters.
2. Monkey Management A strategy for identifying tasks that belong to others ā not you ā and learning to return those āmonkeysā instead of taking them on.
3. Eat the Frog Encourages you to tackle your most difficult or important task first thing in the day, creating momentum and clarity.
4. The Pickle Jar Theory A visual metaphor that reminds us to schedule big priorities (rocks) before letting smaller tasks (pebbles and sand) take up our time.
5. Time Blocking A method of scheduling your day in dedicated blocks, helping you stay focused and avoid constant task-switching.
6. Pomodoro Technique This approach uses 25-minute work intervals followed by short breaks to maintain energy and prevent burnout.
7. Parkinsonās Law The idea that work expands to fill the time allotted for it ā reminding us that setting tighter deadlines can increase efficiency.
8. Mind Mapping A creative way to visually organize tasks and ideas so you can see how different aspects of your life and projects connect.
9. ABC Method A prioritization technique where you rank tasks as A (high priority), B (medium), or C (low), to focus on what matters most.
10. Time Audit A personal inventory of how youāre actually spending your time ā often revealing hidden patterns and places for change.
11. Digital Detox Taking intentional breaks from screens and devices to reconnect with your time, your thoughts, and the present moment.
šļø Journal Prompts for the Week
This week is all about reflection and preparation. Before we dive into each technique, take time to explore your relationship with time:
How do I currently feel about how I manage my time?
What part of my day consistently feels rushed or overwhelming?
Where do I feel in control of my time ā and where do I feel reactive?
What would it feel like to spend my time in alignment with my values?
Which time management tool from the list am I most curious about ā and why?
As we explore these tools in the coming weeks, remember: the goal isnāt to control every minute. Itās to live with intention. To create space for what nourishes you. To protect your peace. And to move through life with presence and clarity.
Let this be your gentle reset ā not just to manage your time, but to reclaim it.
With purpose and peace,
